The Mavericks would like nothing more than to celebrate Josh Howard's 29th birthday by eliminating the Spurs tomorrow night.
During the Tim Duncan era, the ending of a Spurs season on their homecourt usually means confetti raining down from the rafters and a floating parade on the River Walk. The Spurs have lost an elimination game at home only once during Duncan's 12-year Hall of Fame career.
Of course, that trend won't trouble the Mavs. Dirk and Co. are responsible for that lone loss, which came in the classic Game 7 of the 2006 conference semifinals.
