Maybe Jason Terry didn't mean exactly what he said during his postgame interview on the Mavs' TV broadcast last night (via Mavs Moneyball via The Two Man Game).
"Over the last three years we've obviously been through a lot of adversity -- not getting out of the first round...But that's not our goal...Our goal is to win a championship...Obviously there is some urgency, with Jason Kidd probably not going to be with us next year...The time is now."
So Kidd is probably gone? That was probably just a poor choice of words by Jet in the heat of the moment, right?
Well, Kidd's quotes in an NBA.com story, which details his decision not to sign with the Spurs the last time he was a free agent, won't be much more comforting to Mark Cuban and other MFFLs.
"I'm going into it with an open mind and see what comes up," Kidd said. "There could be some great situations again, so maybe this time I'll think with my mind and not my heart."
