Joe Buck Live entertains with owners

Published Sept. 23, 2009 at 4:10 a.m.

Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones were on the second episode of Joe Buck Live, which was several weeks after the debut because of some tough moments on that inaugural show.

But the Mavericks' and Cowboys' owners entertained in their 15-minute segment, although there wasn't much newsy material uncovered.

Jones said he was scared (bleepless) about building the new Cowboys' stadium in this economic climate, and Cuban agreed that owners and businessmen are the ones who have to sign the ultimate checks long after the 48- or 60-minute game is over.

Cuban also touched on the possibility that "it may be that cap-based systems have outlived their usefulness.''

That was in reference to the NFL's collective-bargaining talks, not the NBA's, but it was clear he was speaking in broad terms.

All in all, they represented themselves well. They talked about things that Dallas fans probably already know about, but they did it with style.
