Mavs can't shake the Wolfies

The lead has gone back and forth and the Mavericks find themselves down 45-44 with four-plus left in the half.

Dirk Nowitzki sat the first five minutes and has played since. No matter what you're hearing about other possible explanations for him not starting, it starts and ends with him being late to the pre-game meeting.

The Mavericks did not shootaround in the morning, as is usual, so they could get some extra rest, Rick Carlisle said.

Apparently, it threw Dirk for a loop and he was relieved of his starting duty for one game.
